Hello there.
I'm Nicola, wife and mum to our 3 young men. We relocated from sunny South Africa to Northern Ireland 12 years ago.
After following a long dream of becoming a doula I studied and opened Doula of Belfast in 2019 offering birth and postnatal services. Helping women discover their options and assisting them in having an incredibly positive perinatal experience is an important outcome for me.
During Covid when doulas weren't allowed into hospitals, my heart was really moved by the stories of dads missing the birth of their child, or having to wait in the car until their partner was in 4/5cm dilated. I decided to write a resource/book just for the birth supporter, so that both mum and partner could be equipped to labour together at home until labour was well established.
In my spare time I love being out and about in nature, and keeping my hands busy with embroidery, knitting or crocheting in the evenings.
I also love my coffee!
