The boobingit podcast is a great way to connect with you and bring you inspiring breastfeeding stories and the latest information on breastfeeding.

Each week boobingit founder Ruth interviews a mama or breastfeeding expert to lift the lid on breastfeeding. The aim is always to have a meaningful conversation about breastfeeding, how it impacts our sense of self, and why it’s often not the easiest journey to be on.

In the podcast we explore complex topics such as:

  • breastfeeding older babies & children
  • how society & culture impacts breastfeeding choices
  • breastfeeding & returning to work
  • how breastfeeding is depicted on social media
  • breastfeeding with breast implants

We’re always on the look-out for new topics to discuss so if you have any suggestions please get in touch! We’d love to hear from you.

The boobingit podcast is proud to hold the accolade of the first breastfeeding podcast in the UK.

Ep. 12: Why breastfeeding peer support is important to new mothers, with Miriam Bannan The boobingit podcast

On the podcast this week I am joined by Miriam Bannan who is a mama of three, a breastfeeding supporter and an opera singer! Miriam is originally from Australia but has been based in the UK for a long time. She is used to juggling family life with performing as a Soprano, often mixing the two! Recently you may have seen Miriam on your tv screen when she sang at Prince Philip’s funeral in April. Miriam talks about her interesting background and gives us an insight to what it was like breastfeeding all three of her children whilst working as an opera singer. She tells us why she was inspired to train as a breastfeeding peer supporter with The Breastfeeding Network, and why she loves helping new mothers get to grips with breastfeeding and overcome any challenges they may face. Our chat leads on to us talking about how each and every one of us can be a support to a breastfeeding mother, with Miriam offering up some really practical tips on how to do this.
