We’re ridding ourselves of the last of the January blues and taking a look at the top celebrity breastfeeding moments from January 2023. Who posted about their breastfeeding experience on Instagram and why?

1. Kathryn Ryan
Earlier this month comedienne Kathryn Ryan posted a series of pictures to her Instagram account with the simple caption ‘This week’. The first one feature her breastfeeding her newborn daughter whilst holding a glass of wine. Her followers were quick to praise her for nomalising having a drink whilst breastfeeding. Feed.me.mother commented: Stunning 💛🤱🏼 & cheers to you 🍷❤️. Mummyhooduk added: Yes Mama! 😍🙌👏 thank you for normalising breastfeeding as well as breastfeeding and drinking 🙌 LOVE!!! Smashing it! ❤️😍🙌
2. Ona Carbonell
Synchronized swimmer and Olympian Ona Carbonell gave birth to her second child last year. This month she uploaded a picture of her breastfeeding her newest addition on a sofa with her legs elevated and covered in bandages. Ona explained in the caption that she had fallen down the stars at a train station. Despite the pain her one thought was getting home to beastfeed her son Teo. We are all wishing Ona a speedy recovery.
3. Jorgie Porter
Actress Jorgie Porter celebrated the birth of her first child at the end of 2022. Since then she has posted various breastfeeding pictures and by all accounts her journey so far has been going well. At the beginning of January, however, she experienced a mama mishap whilst out shopping. As she was feeding her little one in in a toilet cubicle a poonami explosion happened. She said: “I had to call for reinforcements or I would still be sat there now 🤣.” She had lots of support and solidarity from other parents in the comments section. Bon_and_bear said: I thought this had only ever happened to me! So glad you escaped 😂. Georgie_from_nicu_to_now added: Yep! And breastfed poop is the worst!!!!
4. Maggie Maurer
In what has been described by Vogue as possibly “the most fashion breastfeeding selfie of all time”, model Maggie Maurer rocked the internet when she posted a very unique breastfeeding photo. With a face covered in gold paint, and wearing a bathrobe, Maggie was pictured feeding her baby backstage at the Schiaparelli spring/summer 2023 couture show – immediately after walking the runway. The things us working mamas have to do, right?!
