Ep. 21: Postpartum Nutrition with Jaren Soloff RD, IBCLC

Jaren Soloff, the boobingit podcast

This week on the boobingit podcast we talk all about the importance of eating well when recovering from birth and breastfeeding. My special guest is Registered Dietician and Lactation Consultant Jaren Soloff, who recently brought out her first book  ‘The Postnatal Cookbook: Simple and Nutritional Recipes to Nourish Your Body and Spirit During the Fourth Trimester’.

During our chat we discuss the importance of eating well postnatally and how it can impact our mental and physical recovery from birth and throughout the fourth trimester.

We look at realistic ways new parents can keep their energy up with snacks and convenient meals that don’t necessarily need to be made from scratch. Jaren also lists really helpful tips on how others can support us in meal planning and prep!

“It’s important to know you don’t need to have the perfect diet to breastfeed, however let’s look at our diet can help us heal better and feel better. It’s about bringing intentional awareness to how food can help give us sustained energy and help our mood if experiencing depression or anxiety”

Jaren also touches on her own recovery from an eating disorder and how her mental state was impacted after becoming a mother.
