Having breastfed my first son till the age of 2.5 years and struggling with the weaning process far more than the early challenges of breastfeeding (although they were difficult enough!), I decided to publish a children’s picture book to help other parents in the same position. I wanted it to contain gentle weaning strategies whilst at the same time being a narrative that would normalise breastfeeding a toddler / older child and be something colourful and engaging that children would be drawn to. ‘A big change for Seb’ is the result and the journey it’s led me on has been inspiring, frustrating and ultimately humbling as I’ve connected with so many women experiencing their own breastfeeding and weaning challenges. I hope my posts @sebtheseries contribute even in a small way towards empowering women to feel they have a choice over their breastfeeding decisions and I love to use my own experience to help wherever I can.
