Black Breastfeeding Week (25–31 August) shines a light on the unique experiences of Black families, addressing the cultural barriers, health disparities, and systemic inequalities that impact breastfeeding rates in the Black community.

This year’s theme for Black Breastfeeding Week is: “Boots on the Ground: Rooted in Breastfeeding Success, Grounded in Community Support,”. It reminds that lasting change happens when parents are surrounded by strong, visible networks of care. It’s about community voices, grassroots advocacy, and ensuring every Black parent who wants to breastfeed feels supported, represented, and empowered.
