Retired tennis player Dominika Cibulkova recently took a luxurious trip to Prague with her family and shared intimate moments of motherhood on her Instagram account. Through her posts, the Slovak shows us how she is able to balance her glamorous life with being a devoted mother.
During her stay at the Four Seasons Hotel, Cibulkova enjoyed quality time with her friends and husband Miso Navara, but also balancing the needs of her newborn daughter, Nina. In one photo, Cibulkova was captured pumping milk from her breasts for her baby while looking stylish and elegant at a fancy restaurant. She even showed off a milk bottle stored in her Hermes bag.
Breastfeeding and pumping in public can still be considered controversial, with many mothers feeling embarrassed or judged for doing so. Cibulkova’s confidence in merging motherhood and a busy social life shows that it is possible to balance the two, despite the sacrifices involved.
The 33-year-old former WTA player wrote in the caption, with the hashtag #daretobeyourself:
When a woman feels confident in her ability to balance motherhood and social life, and is supported by an accepting environment, it creates a positive atmosphere for both parents and children to thrive and pursue their interests.
Cibulkova ended her professional tennis career in 2019. The last match she played was a first-round loss to Aryna Sabalenka at the French Open. The former world No.4 won eight singles titles, including the 2016 WTA Finals in Singapore. Other career highlights include the 2014 Australian Open final, when she became the first player from Slovakia to reach a Grand Slam final, as well as three Wimbledon quarterfinals, one US Open quarterfinal and one Roland Garros semifinal.
