March has been an exceptionally busy month, and one full of freshness and hope. It’s the month we welcomed Spring time and also the month many of us celebrated Mothers Day and International Womens Day too.

1. Kourtney Kardashian Barker uses a manual breast pump

Kourtney Kardashian Barker showed her millions of followers all her recent goings-on with a series of photos added to her Instagram account. One of those photos was a picture of Kourtney pumping milk as she stood in black heels and a black lacy bodysuit, using a manual breast pump to express milk. Many of her followers thanked her and praised her for normalising pumping, with baremotherhood_ remarking: ‘Love to see pumping normalized like this 🙌🏼’.

2. Judo star Clarisse Agbegnenou breastfeeds her baby

At the beginning of March Olympic Judo champion Clarisse Agbegnenou celebrated victory at the Tashkent Grand Slam. She uploaded a series of photos from the event, including one of her breastfeeding her baby whilst holding her impressive medal. Clarisse has been one of the French athletes who has been advocating for better facilities for breastfeeding athletes at the Paris Olympics. She is clearly showcasing you can be the top of your game whilst also continuing to breastfeed your child.

3. Rumer Willis pumps milk at wellness retreat

In March Rumer Willis, the daughter of film stars Demi Moore and Bruce Willis, treated herself to time at a wellness retreat. She brought her breastfed daughter Lou with her, along with her childhood Nanny to help her. In a series of photos documenting her trip, Rumer was pictured using a wearable breast pump. In the caption she said: “I have been reflecting on how long it has been since I have been able to nourish my mind and body, everything I have been doing the last 11 months has been to give everything of myself to Lou and help her to grow and thrive.”. This is a reminder to all mamas that it’s important to set aside time for self-care.

4. Jessie Cave ends her breastfeeding journey

Harry Potter actress Jessie Cave poignantly decided to end her breastfeeding journey on International Womens Day. She marked the emotional event with a video of her breastfeeding her little one whilst lying down on a bed. Many of Jessie’s followers congratulated her on her breastfeeding journey, with Lucy Webber IBCLC saying ‘Congratulations. Look after yourself as your hormones adjust. x’. This was wise advice as it can take many weeks and even months for our hormones to settle after we stop breastfeeding.

5. Iliza Shlesinger breastfeeds her three week old son

In February 2024 comedian Iliza Shlesinger gave birth to her second child, a little boy called Ethan. Since then she has been updating her fans on postpartum life and how she is adjusting to being a mama of two. In March she uploaded a series of photos to mark her little boy being three weeks old. Included was a cute breastfeeding photo, showing her little boys hand resting on his mama’s chest as he fed.

6. Bekah Martinez talks breastfeeding misinformation

In March Bachelor alumni and mama of three Bekah Martinez felt compelled to tackle the topic of breastfeeding misinformation. In her latest breastfeeding post Bekah opened up about how all three of her children dropped percentiles as babies. Each time this came with pressure to top up with formula milk and pump milk, with different professionals offering different advice. Bekah has learnt that it’s quite normal for babies to drop percentiles and that is it not necessarily a sign of low milk supply. In her accompanying reel she explains the real signs of low milk supply Vs perceived low milk supply. Lots of Bekah’s followers took the time to thank her for helping dispel some breastfeeding myths.

7. Oti Mabuse worries about loosing her milk supply

Dancing on Ice judge Oti Mabuse became a mother for the first time late last year. Since then Oti has been open and honest about her breastfeeding journey with her little one. In her latest Instagram post she asked for advice from fellow breastfeeding mamas. Now that her baby is sleeping through the night she wanted to know how she could also enjoy more sleep without waking to pump milk. She’s afraid if she doesn’t keep pumping then she will loose her milk supply. Oti’s many followers were quick to give their advice and as you can imagine it was all very different! One experienced breastfeeding mama Rachel Silvester sensibly suggested: ‘You can lengthen the time between pumping, and slowly but surely it’ll level out your supply to give you the relief in between. 8. Caroline Vreeland celebrates Womens Day

Caroline Vreeland marked International Womens Day with a powerful photo of her pumping milk. The singer and mama of two was sat crossed legged using a double electric breast pump whilst looking glamourous wearing statement earrings and a full face of makeup. A second photo showed Caroline sitting on the floor breastfeeding her youngest child. Her fans couldn’t get over the depiction of motherhood, with eviareichelovadesign complimenting her as the ‘queen of glam realness’.

9. Daisy Lowe marks Mothers Day

Model Daisy Lowe celebrated her first Mothers Day this year. Since her daughter Ivy was born last year Daisy has been thriving in her motherhood and breastfeeding journey. In a series of photos added to Instagram, Daisy included a photo of her breastfeeding after giving birth with her own mother watching on. She thanked her mother Pearl Lowe for her constant support and “how you held my hand the past year through new motherhood”. It was a beautiful tribute for Mothers Day.
